Home Whitening Your measurements will be made by the dentist and a special tray will be custom fabricated for your teeth only. Then a special whitening material will be dispensed to you in tubes along with your special tray and you will have to use this tray for either one hour everyday or overnight as per the instructions of the dentist. You will probably have to carry out this procedure for about 7 to 8 days and you will find a noticeable lightening of the teeth. Tooth whitening generally causes no major side effects. Some patients may feel an increased sensitivity of the teeth to cold and sweet, but this is very transient and it will go away once the therapy is completed or temporarily withdrawn. A word of caution about the Home whitening procedure. Please do not attempt to try this on your own with any of the tele branded products.
